Canon New Zealand:
Canon New Zealand has supported The North Shore National Salon of Photography since its inception in 1995. With the unavailability of the Aotea Centre this year, Canon has generously agreed to host the Salon’s 2009 exhibition at their head office, 28 The Warehouse Way, Northcote, Auckland, from 13th to 24th of July.

The Edge:
In previous years, the North Shore National Salon of Photography has held their exhibition at The Edge, Aotea Centre, Auckland. However, due to renovations, The Edge were unable to host the 2009 exhibition.

North Shore Photographic Society was founded in 1954 and is a ffiliated with the Photographic Society of New Zealand (PSNZ). The Society created the Salon to promote the art of photography in New Zealand through a prestigious, national photographic event each year.

Photographic Society of New Zealand

The Photographic Society of New Zealand is the umbrella organization for 62 Camera Clubs and Photographic Societies throughout New Zealand. It was founded in 1953 in Queenstown and now has a membership of about 1000 with another 2000 (approximately) belonging to the affiliated clubs.
The goals of the Society include encouraging the advancement of photography as a craft and as an art form, while promoting friendship, cooperation and exchange of ideas within its community.
