About 2011

The 2011 North Shore National Salon of Photography has eight categories:

Prints
1. Open Colour
2. Monochrome
3. The Human Element : Images of people, a person or part of a person, but it needs to show an aspect of their humanity or impact, not just their form.

4. Aged : A broad topic which includes anyone or anything old, or having existed for a long time. To successfully show the subject it must be seen that time has made its mark.

Digital
5. Open Colour
6. Monochrome
7. Modern : This is about current trends and styles expressed every day in places, objects and people . It is about the "look".

8. Power : There are as many concepts of power as there are photographers. Power can be seen in people, symbols, attitudes and in physical forms, but the message must be obvious.

The following awards are awarded in each category:

  • The prestigious Gold medal for the winners of each category plus Silver and Bronze medals, Honours, Highly Commended and Acceptance awards.
  • The PROGEAR Trophy, awarded to the best overall image chosen from the Gold awards.
